Here is a quick look at a few FAQ’s, tips and what to expect for photo sessions and weddings.  Please read through this before ANY session! If you still have a question that is left unanswered, please send me an email and I’ll get that taken care of for you right away!




What should I do BEFORE my photo session?

~ Before your session (assuming you have already booked a date) – you just need to sit back and relax! Go ahead and get your outfits together – and I’ll worry about the locations.  If I don’t tell you an exact date and time for the session, I will get with you a couple days before our session to let you know specifics.

What should we wear?

~This is the most common question I receive by clients.  I don’t have rules, but I do have suggestions! Try to stay away from white or very light solid colors – they tend to blow out the photo and your skin. White CAN be done, so don’t stress if you really want to wear something that is white (I shoot wedding dresses all the time) Bright colors are always fun! I tend to tell my clients, pick the really cute outfits for your kids and have the rest of the family color coordinate.  Same thing goes for engagements and maternity.  Always focus on the women (sorry guys).  Last but certainly not least – BE COMFORTABLE!! These photos will last a life time, and I hope they will be hanging on your walls for years.  Please make sure you are wearing something you love and doesn’t make you cringe every time you walk by it

What about payments/fees?

Session fees are due at the time of the session.  I ask that you pay in cash or check (made out to Jerrie Haskin).  Please be sure to bring this to your session.  If you aren’t able to pay at the session, please make arrangements with me beforehand.  I will NOT edit any photos until you are paid in full.  If you need to pay by PayPal or any other special arrangements, payment must be cleared before the time of session.

What about wedding fees?

Weddings are a little different….you must pay 50% of your total amount to hold your wedding date.  Your signed contract MUST be signed and returned to me or your date will just be penciled in.  Once I receive both of those, your date is reserved! The remaining 50% of your amount is due 30 days prior to the wedding date.  There will be a $15 late fee for every day it’s late.  The reason I do this is because I have to rent equipment, make travel arrangements, babysitters, etc.  I will take post dated checks and payments, just let me know and we will work something out!

How long does it take to get my photos?

-Small sessions (seniors, families, etc) take 2-3 weeks for photo return – weddings are 30 days.  I’ll then upload all of your photos to a private site so you can view them while you are waiting on your disc.  I will also post “sneak peeks” on my Facebook Page – so make sure you are a ‘fan’ on there to see the sneaks!

What is included in my session?

Sessions/weddings include a disc of all edited images with printing rights.  This means you can print them wherever, you just can’t sell them. crop them or re-edit them.  If you are more interested in prints than the disc, let me know and we will customize a package for you

What if the session doesn’t go as planned?

I understand what you have in mind, may not be what happens in real life (most of us do this, including me!).  Here are some ways to make sure the session goes as planned.  If children are involved – please make sure they have napped, are fed, are comfortable and the DO NOT feel your stress! If they start to have a melt down, it’s OK! We will let them take a short break and get back to photos.  I do not offer refunds, re-shoots or swaps of any kind if the session doesn’t go as planned.  If you need to reschedule for any reason please text me ASAP 972-955-7310

What if my session is cancelled or rescheduled?

I don’t prefer cancellations – only reschedules.  The weather, children getting sick or even you (or myself) get sick and sometimes we just can’t meet the day we originally chose to meet up.  In the case of a reschedule, we will get together and pick the next best date that fits both of our schedules.  If any deposit for the session has been paid will not be refunded, but forwarded to a new session.
